Vicki Estridge, Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit Manager, The Jewish Hospital, Receives Excellence in Oncology Nursing Award

Cincinnati Vicki Estridge, RN, BSN, OCN, Manager, Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit at The Jewish Hospital, received the Excellence in Oncology Nursing Award Tuesday night at the Tristate Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Societys March meeting.

Estridge is an Oncology Certified Nurse with over twenty years of clinical experience in the field of oncology nursing. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Nursing Degree at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Vicki has previously worked in the Nurse Clinician and Clinical Educator roles of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Center.

All of us at the Blood and Marrow Transplant Center are so proud of the leadership Vicki has brought to the blood and marrow transplant unit. Her focus on top-notch patient care and dedication to excellence has resulted in very positive outcomes for our patients, said Karen Hess, Administrative Director, Blood and Marrow Transplant Center at The Jewish Hospital.

The Blood and Marrow Transplant Center at The Jewish Hospital is the only blood and marrow transplant program in the region. The continuum of care provided by the Center includes the 23-bed specialty-care unit with four rooms equipped for intensive care, Outpatient Oncology, Oncology Hematology Care, Inc., and support provided by the BMT administrative office.

According to their Web site, the Cincinnati Tri-state Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society, established in 1987, has more than 120 members. The Cincinnati Tri-state Chapter supports the national mission to promote excellence in oncology nursing and quality cancer care.

The Jewish Hospital, founded in 1850, is a 200-bed acute care teaching hospital.
