Medical Oncology (Chemotherapy)
Medical oncology, or chemotherapy, is the use of drugs to treat cancer. It is often used in conjunction with other treatments, such as such as radiation therapy or surgery. Patients are often treated using a combination of drug therapies in order to minimize the chances of resistance to any one drug.
The Jewish Hospital offers the latest chemotherapy treatments in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Your Jewish Hospital oncology team will work closely with you to administer the right combination of treatments that achieve the best outcomes in eliminating the cancer while helping you remain as comfortable as possible and well-informed.
